Privacy notice
A short explanation of how I handle personal information.
I am based in Waterford, Ontario. This notice describes the website and inquiries sent to joel.leonard@gmii.ca.
What this site collects
The public pages do not require an account. The contact form does not store submissions on this website. If you send the form, your message is delivered to my inbox through Formspree. That message typically includes your name, email, an optional phone number, and what you wrote. You can instead open an email draft in your own mail app addressed to joel.leonard@gmii.ca. If you write to me directly, I receive whatever you include.
Like most websites, my hosting provider may process technical logs such as IP address, browser type, and pages requested, in order to operate and secure the site. This site is built to be served from Vercel. That means some technical data may be processed on servers outside Canada, including in the United States.
Why I use it
- To reply to inquiries and decide whether a conversation is appropriate
- To schedule and follow up on introductory discussions
- To operate, secure, and troubleshoot the website
- To respond to privacy or access requests sent to joel.leonard@gmii.ca
I do not sell personal information. I do not use the contact form for advertising profiles.
Client portals
The For clients page only links out to third-party systems for financial plans, investment plans, and account holdings. Those providers have their own privacy practices. This website does not collect client passwords or account holdings.
Who else may see it
Email and hosting providers process messages and technical data on my behalf. Formspree processes contact form submissions so they reach my inbox. I may disclose information if required by law.
How long I keep it
Inquiry emails are kept as long as needed to respond and to maintain a reasonable record of the conversation. I do not retain website form data on the site itself. Formspree may keep a copy of a submission under its own terms.
Your choices
You can email me without using the form. You can ask what information I hold about you, request a correction, or ask me to delete inquiry correspondence that I no longer need to keep. Canadian privacy law (including PIPEDA, where it applies) informs how I handle those requests.
