How I can help

My business activities are financial planning, mutual fund business, and insurance. Financial planning is a process, not a product. The offerings below are the kinds of work I do with clients. They are described in general terms so you can see whether a conversation is worth having.

  1. 01

    Retirement planning

We look at when work might change, how registered and non-registered savings could be drawn, and what a sustainable income picture might look like. The aim is a plan you can explain to a partner, not a stack of projections you cannot use.

  2. 02

    Cash flow and savings

A calm read of income, spending, debt, and savings rate. We identify leaks, set a savings order that matches your accounts and tax situation, and give vague goals a number and a date.

  3. 03

    Mutual funds and ETFs

Investment conversations belong inside a plan, not beside it. We talk about what the money needs to do, how much variability you can live with, and how accounts are structured. Any mutual fund or ETF recommendation comes only after I understand your situation.

Mutual funds and ETFs are offered through Global Maxfin Investments Inc. Commissions, trailing commissions, management fees and expenses all may be associated with mutual fund investments. Please read the fund facts and prospectus before investing. Mutual funds are not guaranteed, their values change frequently and past performance may not be repeated.

  4. 04

    Insurance

Coverage often lags behind real life. We look at what your family or business would need if something happened, and how life, disability, critical illness, and other coverage fit the rest of the plan.

Insurance products are offered through Global Insurance Solutions Inc. Insurance products are not offered by Global Maxfin Investments Inc.

  5. 05

    Estate coordination

We review how beneficiary designations and high-level estate intentions line up with your goals. When a lawyer or tax professional should take the next step, I bring in the right professional.

  6. 06

    Monetizing your business

We look at how you pay yourself, such as salary and dividends, the value tied up in the company, and how money might be drawn out over the years in a tax-aware way. The work is coordinated with your accountant and lawyer, who handle the tax and legal advice.

  7. 07

    Succession planning

Whether the next owner is family, a partner, or a buyer, we map out the timing and the steps and how they fit the rest of your plan. The work is coordinated with your accountant and lawyer.

  8. 08

    Goal-based planning

Education, a home, work-optional years, helping family: goals compete. We put them on one page, attach dates and dollar ranges, and agree which trade-offs you are willing to make.
